Clara Ehrenwerth

Writer, General Manager

born in 1987 in Blankenburg/Harz, studied creative writing and arts journalism at the University of Hildesheim. From 2008 to 2011 she co-edited the literary magazine BELLA triste and was a member of the artistic and project leadership team at the 2011 PROSANOVA literature festival. She has earned several awards for her literary work, including the Hessen-Thuringia Youth Literature Forum prize, and was the recipient of a writing fellowship from the state of Thuringia. She has been working with machina eX since 2014 and has served as general manager of the collective since 2018. A freelance author and game developer, she also writes radio plays (for outlets including Westdeutscher Rundfunk), visual novels (for the University of Göttingen, among others), essays, and prose.

Anton Kurt Krause

Staging, Workshops

was born in 1986 in Magdeburg and started attending performances at the Theater Magdeburg at a young age. He studied theater direction with Luk Perceval at the Performing Arts Academy Baden-Württemberg from 2008 to 2011. From 2011-2013, he worked as an assistant director at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg. Since his residency at the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab in New York in 2015, Krause has been working with the international directors collective P.L.U.T.O., whose latest project, BLACK BOX, earned an award at the Festival International de Buenos Aires. . He also works with other independent game theater groups, including doublelucky Productions, OutOfTheBox, and Janne Kummer. Through his master’s degree project “Spiel&Objekt” at the Ernst Busch College of Acting, Krause expanded his knowledge of game design and development. Most recently, his work has focused on the interfaces between AR and VR applications and microcontrollers. He started working with machina eX in 2015 and has been a permanent member of the collective since 2023.

Lasse Marburg

Programmer, Technical Director

develops games and forms of interaction for the theater, public spaces, and the computer. He has been inventing theater games for machina eX since its founding, programming and building mechanical and electronic interfaces. He majored in cultural studies and applied aesthetics at the University of Hildesheim and leads workshops on theater games, programming, and electronic interface design for beginners. As a freelance interactive designer and game developer, he has worked with independent theater groups including Thermoboy FK and Shatter. He grew up in Bremen and lives in Hameln.

Lena Vöcklinghaus

Dramaturge

studied sociology in Mannheim, cultural studies in Frankfurt/Oder, and creative writing in Hildesheim. In 2020, she received her doctorate in German studies, focusing her thesis on readings by contemporary authors in the German-speaking world. Since then, she has worked as a freelance lecturer, literary facilitator, and dramaturge in Berlin. She teaches creative writing at the SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences and curates readings for freelance authors in the Berlin area. She has contributed to a series of cultural projects, serving as an editor of BELLA triste – the Magazine for Youth Literature (2013-2015), as a member of the artistic leadership team at the 2014 PROSANOVA literature festival, and as the producer of the theater podcast Dreima Drama (2021-2022). She has been collaborating with machina eX since 2021 and has been a permanent member of the collective since 2023.

Sina Kießling

Production

studied acting at the College of Music and Theater in Rostock. From 2003 to 2007, she worked as an actor at the Theater Heilbronn, followed by a two-year engagement at the Theater Lübeck. Since 2009 she has worked as a freelance actor and has appeared onstage at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Volksbühne Berlin, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Volkstheater München, Stadstheater Malmö, Theater Lübeck, Badischen Staatstheater Karlsruhe, and Theater Basel, among others. In 2016 she completed her studies in arts management at the College of Music and Theater in Hamburg. Since then she has worked as a production manager and producer with Fabian Hinrichs at the Foreign Affairs Festival, at the Union Universal Hamburg, and at the Kaleidescope Soloist Ensemble Berlin, among others. She has also collaborated with the Nordwind Festival, the Swiss choreographer Simone Aughterlony, choreographer Kat Válastur, American dancer and choreographer Ligia Lewis, and with performers Janne Gregor und Anan Fries. She has been working as a producer at machina eX since 2015.
